Massachusetts State Inspections at American Tire Service & Sales, Inc.

American Tire Service & Sales, Inc. is a State of Massachusetts Authorized Inspection Station equipped with the latest technology to perform Massachusetts new motor vehicle emissions and safety inspections per the program known as “Massachusetts Vehicle Check.” Massachusetts Vehicle Check is a joint program of the Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) and the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV). American Tire Service & Sales, Inc. serves customers in Springfield, MA, Chicopee, MA, Holyoke, MA, and surrounding areas.

Stop in for Your Yearly Safety Inspection

The Massachusetts motor vehicle emissions and safety inspection program plays an important role in reducing air pollution and keeping our roads safe. All vehicles registered in Massachusetts must receive a safety inspection each year. Inspections are performed daily during our normal business hours, Monday thru Friday.

Bring your vehicle registration and the $35 inspection fee with you. All major credit cards are accepted.

Passing and Failing

If your vehicle passes, you will be provided with an inspection sticker and a report of the test results. If your vehicle fails for a safety reason, it may not be driven until the required repairs have been made. If your vehicle fails for an emissions reason, you will have 60 days to make the necessary repairs and pass a re-inspection.

After either repair, this re-inspection will be provided at no cost provided that it is performed at the original inspection station. (You are entitled to only one free re-test.) 7-D Inspections

The safety and security of schoolchildren is utmost importance to the both American Tire Service & Sales, Inc. and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.     Any vehicle – a van, sedan or station – other than a school bus, that transports students, must pass two (2) safety inspections each year – once in October or November and the other during February or March.   American Tire Service & Sales, Inc. is a licensed 7-D Massachusetts Inspection Station.
